Pinewood Derby is a Huge Success!

The annual Pack 442 Pinewood Derby was held at Lakeway Church this past Saturday, bringing together 54 Cub Scout racers to participate in this exciting event! Thanks to our successful Cuvee Coffee Fundraising event in the fall of 2021, the Cub Scouts raced on a brand new aluminum track.

The Cub Scouts were each given a race kit by their den leaders, but had to completely cut, build and paint their cars with the support of their family and den. Each racer's car had to meet set standards and the racers attended a weigh in and inspection on Friday January 21st.

All new this year was a live broadcast of the event on the Pack's private FaceBook page. This allowed friends and family to view the races from afar. There was also remote voting for these car design categories: Most Creative (Kai), Funniest (Kai), Best Paint Job (Caleb), Most Realistic (Miles), Kids Choice (Anderson) - photos below.

All in all a super fun day! All photos are available with private passcode. Thanks to all those who participated (parents too!) and special thanks to all the Den Leaders and Volunteers that made this event possible.
